Ways to Give
Charitable Gift Giving- How you can help Parkersburg Catholic Schools continue its mission.
With the 2009-2010 academic year upon us, it’s the time of year when many of us consider how we may contribute or how we can make a difference in lives of those around us. For Parkersburg Catholic Schools we take pride in providing the very best Catholic education for its students and preparing them for life of stewardship and compassion, the charitable donations we receive are extremely important to achieving our core mission.

We will not turn away a student who desires a Catholic education simply because of the financial ability. Therefore, we must rely upon the generosity of our alumni and other interested benefactors to continue providing exceptional academic programs, extracurricular activities and service projects that broaden and challenge the mind, heart and spirit.

Please help us to continue the mission. There are several areas of need and many ways to contribute, depending on your personal circumstances. Let’s take a closer look at your gift giving options….

Outright Gifts
Parkersburg Catholic Schools accepts gifts of cash and appreciated securities. Checks should be made payable to PCS Foundation. Stock that is held in a brokerage account may be transferred electronically and delivery instructions are available. Stock held in certificate form may be contributed by mailing the certificate and a separate stock power from different envelopes. It is advisable to send gifts of stock via Certified Mail
A Charitable Remainder Trust may help you increase your income from low-yielding assets: reduce or eliminate income, estate and gift taxes that may be due; diversify your investment assets; provide assistance for older family members or help meet educational expenses of your children; and enjoy making a sizeable gift that might not otherwise be possible. Charitable Lead Trusts may also be used to help make a significant contribution, enhance the future financial security of your family and loved ones, and you may be able to provide your heirs with a larger inheritance than what otherwise might be possible.

Bequest
Bequests for the benefit of Parkersburg Catholic Schools are another gift –giving option. Simply use the following language in a will: “I give, devise and bequeath the sum of _____ to the Roman Catholic Bishop Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston for the benefit of Parkersburg Catholic Schools in Parkersburg, West Virginia.” Of course, we recommend you seek legal counsel before drawing up a bequest or formulation a will.
